Caïssa Sytem
Using Ambient technology, DGT developed the DGT Caïssa System. The DGT Caïssa System connects serial tournament boards to the computer via a wireless system. The system consists of three different modules: board modules (one for each board), a collector module and booster modules.
The board module connects to the serial e-board and DGT XL clock under which it is placed. The board module sends the chess moves to the collector module. The collector module connects to the PC and receives the chess moves. The booster module acts as an amplifier and is required if the number of boards exceeds a certain quantity or if there is a large distance between board modules and collector module. It is placed anywhere in the playing room.
A huge benefit of the DGT Caïssa System is that it is extremely easy and quick to set up. Large quantities of serial boards can be connected together simply by placing the required modules.
The DGT Caïssa System is delivered in customised wooden boxes. Each box holds all modules and materials required to connect ten boards.

Dhatec Line pipe Logistic Solutions develops and manufactures products that take care of line pipe quality during manufacturing, coating, handling, transport and storage. Our product program aims to maintain pipe quality, and improve the efficiency and safety of each process. Dhatec offers solutions to control all logistic operations in the supply chain of line pipes, from factory to construction site. In Dhatec’s perspective, “logistic operations” is interpreted in the widest sense of the word. All pipe movements within a factory environment, as well as outside in the field are included in our Task Environment.
PipeGuard
In partnership with Ambient Systems Dhatec developed the Pipe Guard, an active RFID system for identifying, localizing and measuring conditions of pipes during the logistic process. The Pipe Guard brings the following advantages to the logic processes:
• Wireless identification of pipes
• Communicating pipe quality data to central database
• Localization of the pipe
• Measure pipe conditions
• Detailed insight into logistics in supply chain
Uncertainties can be reduced because the Pipe Guard offers detailed insights in logistic processes within the supply chain. In line pipe logistics, a reduction of uncertainties means large cost savings. Buffer storage of capital intensive pipes can be lowered and bottlenecks can be identified before they become a problem.
The active RFID chip communicates pipe quality data wirelessly. Once the pipe number is entered into the Pipe Guard, information such as entry day and time, quality specifications, length, weight etc are communicated via the wireless network and exchanged with the central database.
Installing the network is easy. The magnetic chips are positioned in the pipe. The routers that enable the network are positioned with a mesh of approximately 90 meters. Routers are solar powered so there is no need for electrical power in the field. A gateway and connect box make it possible to exchange the information with the central database or access the system via internet.
