SmartPoints 3000
The SP-3000T SmartPoint is a small, battery operated wireless device with capabilities that go far beyond traditional active RFID tags. In fact, SmartPoints provide physical objects with a number of capabilities that are normally associated with human intelligence. So in many ways, SmartPoints create intelligent objects.
SmartPoints contains a built-in 3D location calculator and a temperature sensor. A SmartPoint furthermore offers a SensIO™ connector to which other sensors can be connected. Sensor and location data can be wirelessly transmitted to a computer. The SP-3000T SmartPoint also contains a lot of memory, for storing product information (eg EPC, shipping bill, product description, etc) and historical sensor and location data. The built-in transceiver can receive instructions from the network. This way, each SmartPoint can be programmed via Business Rules to execute specific, user defined check, track and trace functions. With Dynamic Event Reporting, SmartPoints have the capability to identify and report relevant business events.
Ambient Systems also provides a number of SmartPoint modules (SM3000T). These can be used for build-in and OEM purposes. A module offers enhanced I/O connectivity, making it ideal for highly customized solutions.
