GateWay 3000

Each wireless sensor network contains at least one GateWay. The gateway is the unit which operates the Time Synchronized Mesh Protocol (TSMP). It furthermore converts data flows from the Active RFID network to the Backoffice system of the user and vice-versa.

Ambient Systems provides three classes of GateWays:
- The GateWay M30 supports up to 31 MicroRouters. It is optimized for indoor sites up to 20,000m².
- The GateWay M120 supports up to 127 MicroRouters. It is optimized for sites which require indoor and outdoor coverage from 15,000m² up to more than 100,000 m²
- The GateWay M250 supports up to 255 MicroRouters. It is designed for sites which typically exceed 100,000m².

MicroRouters 3000

MicroRouters are the wireless hubs that provide data transport for SmartPoints within their combined area of coverage. A typical Ambient active RFID Network operates a number of MicroRouters. Cabling is not needed, because each MicroRouter communicates wirelessly with SmartPoints as well as with other nodes in the network. The reliable mesh networking technology ensures that data travels over the shortest and best route available. This is part of Ambient’s Robust and Resilient™ technology. The weatherproof (IP65 compliant) MR-3000 can be used indoor and outdoor. It merely requires an external power source. In those cases where mains power is unavailable, the MR-3000AW is the perfect solution. This All-Wireless™ device operates on a rechargeable Li-Ion C-cell battery, ideal for use with for example a solar power pane.
