Product Series 800: Wireless monitoring networks - Introduced in 2006 and since proven in more than 100 implementations worldwide, the Product Series 800 provides a reliable wireless sensor network solution. Which Product Series is right for me?
That depends on your business requirements. Products Series 800 is a proven solution for wireless monitoring, particularly for static networks. A good example is environmental monitoring. Product Series 3000 was introduced in 2008 and provides more advanced capabilities, which make it more suitable for dynamics applications, for example in transport & logistics. The main differences:
- Products Series 3000 supports larger scale networks. The maximum number of MicroRouters is 255, compared to 31 for Product Series 800. As a result, Product Series 3000 can scale to thousands of SmartPoint, compared to hundreds of SmartPoints for Product Series 800.
- Product Series 3000 has more advanced Real-Time Locating capabilities.
- Products Series 3000 has more advanced security features.
- SmartPoints in Product Series 3000 have more memory (1 MByte) and a more robust enclosure (IP67).
- Product Series 3000 operates in the 2.4 GHz bandwidth, compared to the UHF bandwidth for Product Series 800 (868 MHz in Europe). As a consequence, the Product Series 3000 provides more data throughput.
